Bell & Ross br05 review

Bell & Ross is one brand that believes in aesthetics in a unique design. The “Circle in a Square” design was built in BR 01 and BR 03 collections. But the brand also produces all-around watches, but its square bezels have been an instant example of creating recognizable looks.

In 2019, the brand started the BR 05 collection, a more modern and unique style inspired by “luxury sports watches.” Previously, this set included time and date models and chronographs in various configurations. Today, Bell & Ross launched the third BR 05 line with the new Bell & Ross BR 05 GMT.

History

Given Bell & Ross’s history, adding the GMT function to the BR 05 makes complete sense. Adjusting your watch to a different time zone has long been a part of the BR 03 and BR V2 compilations in various incarnations.

With the launch of BR 05 in 2019, Bell & Ross entered an area that increased its popularity a hundredfold. The luxury sports watch may seem simple, but it is beautiful because the watch’s charm can be combined with a strong frame and unique straps.

Heavy beaters characterize this style. In the last few years, the most popular brands have become competitive with the BR 05, offering an exciting look of a luxury sports watch.

The Bell & Ross BR 05 was initially introduced as a time-and-date model available in various colors and designs. The exciting thing is that it has preserved the familiar structures of the set, including squares and bolts in all corners and the opening of the circular plate.

However, the BR 05 has much more stylish features than the BR 01 and BR 03, which makes it particularly popular in this way.

You can choose between two shades of gray, black or blue, and steel frames, two colors, or total gold. Bell & Ross also released a model with a skeleton plate, first in gray and then in blue.

The Bell & Ross BR 05 watch is the next step, precisely inspired by the Bell & Ross aviation model. The BR 05 watch was introduced about a year ago and, despite staying true to the original design of the BR 05, added a unique yet attractive, masculine watch.

Its size increased from 40 mm to 42 mm. The dual-register display for the clock is very much in line with the usual Bell & Ross style and comes in black or blue screens with rubber straps or steel bracelets.

The Bell & Ross BR 05 GMT

And now, two years after the BR 05 was first initiated, Bell & Ross has wanted to introduce the BR 05 GMT as the third member of the family.

Again, given the brand’s aerospace & defense roots, the GMT inclination makes perfect sense for Bell & Ross, as this BR 03-93 GMT demonstrates.

In terms of size, the rounded-square metal case measures 41mm across and 11,1mm high, putting it right between both the time and date and the clock. Like the other BR 05 designs, the case is mainly satin-finished, with refined corners and bezel, and polished screws.

Sapphire crystals cover both the front and back of the case, and it retains the previous models’ 100m water resistance.

In typical Bell & Ross fashion, the dial is kept straightforward. The split-shot brushed black dial has a gently sloping black and silver outer spacer with a 24-hour magnitude and triangular indicator at 00/24 hours. The hours and minutes are indicated by rounded baton hands filled with Super LumiNova, preceded by a refined central second’s hand.

The GMT hand is also placed at the center, with a straight stem, an arrow-shaped tip with a red outline, and another Super-LumiNova insert. The hours are represented by imposed indices interspersed with 6, 9, and 12. A constructed date window on the right side of the dial displays a white-on-black date disc.

The back of the sapphire crystal case demonstrates the BR-CAL.325 movement focused on a Sellita SW-330. The current time, date, and, of course, the second time zone are all displayed on this completely automated caliber.

The GMT hand can be adapted independently via the crown in one-hour increments and both directions. The movement has a battery capacity of 42 hours and a consistency of 28,800vph (4Hz). The movement, like its siblings, is exceeded by a skull bone rotor.

Is it worthwhile to purchase BR05?

Ultimately, the BRO5GMT is a more aggressive form than other Bell & Ross models, and it continues to stand out from other Granter watches in this category at a decent cost.
